Meet Jenny

Welcome to Joyful Wildflower

My name is Jenny, LCSW, and I’m the owner of Joyful Wildflower. I’m so glad you’re here. Seeking counseling can be intimidating, and often takes time to even consider. By exploring these feelings and looking for change, you’ve already taken the first step on your healing journey. Change doesn’t happen overnight, and it takes real courage to seek new ways of coping with the daily grind of life.

I chose the name Joyful Wildflower because I’m a devoted Colorado hiker who has personally turned to nature and hiking to cope with life’s challenges. I’d often set out on long hikes just to clear my mind, and over time, nature became a true part of my own healing and mental health journey. Stopping to take in the beauty around me — pausing to really see the wildflowers — slowed down my thinking and taught me to practice mindfulness.

Hiking rarely offers perfect conditions, much like life rarely offers smooth, predictable paths. You can’t always expect things to go your way on the trail, just as you can’t always expect ease in life. But appreciating the joy and beauty already in the world, and holding onto a positive mindset, gives us the strength to weather life’s storms. It’s an honor to walk alongside you as you find your way out of the darkness and rediscover beauty again — like joyful wildflowers blooming after the storm.

My Mission

Joyful Wildflower’s mission is to provide mental health support to women in all walks of life. I specialize in supporting women through postpartum, pregnancy, infertility, and loss. Women’s health and wellbeing have always been a passion of mine — both professionally and through my own personal experiences. I also work with clients facing anxiety, grief, self-esteem struggles, depression, stress, and major life changes or transitions.

Motherhood isn’t easy, and making time for yourself can feel challenging, even daunting. Finding hope after the loss of a baby can feel impossible in the moment — but healing through grief, in your own time and at your own pace, is possible.

I welcome you with a non-judgmental, patient, and kind approach, because we’ve all faced struggles in life. I look forward to connecting with you and walking through this journey together.

Common Questions

Your concerns are important to us. Here are some questions we often hear:

Still have more questions?

We understand that seeking help can come with many questions. Our goal is to ensure you feel comfortable and informed. Below, we hope to answer the common questions about our counseling services and the support we provide for postpartum challenges, anxiety, and grief.

Your first session will focus on understanding your unique situation. We will discuss your concerns and what you hope to achieve in counseling. It’s a chance for you to share your story in a safe, supportive space.

Sessions typically last about 50 minutes. This allows ample time to explore your feelings and progress toward your goals. We can adjust timing based on your needs.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Social Work from Colorado State University and my MSW from UTRGV. Over the course of my career, I’ve worked with children, adults, elders, and youth across a range of settings — including home health and hospice (where I ran grief support groups), private practice, hospital settings, and community-based behavioral health as a case manager. I’m deeply dedicated to healing and improving quality of life for those who are struggling.

I use a blend of therapeutic modalities tailored to each client’s individual needs. I’m a strong advocate for mindfulness, journaling, and a holistic approach to care — one that addresses the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual dimensions of healing.

Yes, confidentiality is crucial in our work. What you discuss in sessions is private and will not be shared without your consent, unless required by law.
